The Synergy Program


Program Development Objective:
Local communities, including school children, have an in-depth understanding of natural resources, have equitable access, and have the skills to responsibly collaborate, conserve and manage them, contributing to overall poverty reduction as well as social, economic and ecosystem resilience supported by relevant policy framework/s.

PROGORAM COMPONENT 1: PARTNER CAPACITY
Program Immediate objective 1:
Strengthened independent civil society partners with organizational, technical, and advocacy capacity for responsible NRM, creating a vibrant synergy among each other.
Program Output 1:
Partners' capacity, learning, and knowledge sharing is strengthened.

PROGORAM COMPONENT 2: ASSOCIATION BUILDING
Program Immediate objective 2:
Target groups organized in forest and natural resource user associations that have the skills to provide extension services for responsible NRM, income generation, and that advocate towards duty bearers on the local and national level for equitable access to natural resources.
Program Output 2:
Target groups are organized and have enhanced skills to manage their resources in a responsible way, contributing to livelihood improvement.
Program Output 3:
Target groups are organized and have increased skills to influence duty bearers to implement and support enabling policies related to the natural resource management sector.

PROGRAM COMPONENT 3: EDUCATION ON NRM
Program Immediate objective 3:
Education focusing on proper management of natural resources in formal education system is implemented/introduced, promoted and strengthened on the local and National level.
Program Output 4:
Interactive environmental education introduced to primary schools by partners are adopted by teachers. Indicators:
Program Output 5:
Education on NRM in universities is contributing to skill building among target groups
Program Output 6:
IEE and education on NRM are promoted and strengthened on the local and national level
