A study tour to Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang

Phu Tho is one of the biggest seedlings production provinces in the North of Vietnam. A farmer group supported by a project of SRD organization have shared many interesting experiences in seedlings producing, container filling, market and prices etc. It was also a chance to connect the three More Trees cooperatives as customers and SRD farmer group as supplier for future business transations. The group also introduced how they had established and operated the micro credit made up from every group members' sharings.

Tuyen Quang is a province where farmers are being supported by Woodsland company to have 16,000 ha of forest qualified enough for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certificate. The People Committee of Yen Son district were very kind to take More Trees to visit processing factory of Woodsland, tree growing households at Phu Thinh commune and especially Tien Huy cooperative. The three cooperatives from Hoa Binh and Ha Tinh have learnt many things about how famers of a cooperative get the FSC certificate. A big thanks sent to Tuyen Quang people and authorities for their hospitality and willingness in sharing experiences and lessons learnt.
