For the target of self-financing and job creating, during December 2015, the three cooperatives of More Trees project under the support of Hoa Binh and Ha Tinh Farmer Unions and project officers of DDS office in Vietnam developed a business plan for the year of 2016.
During the discussions, every business option was raised and considered if it was possible or suitable for local market. Elements such as: sources of capital, profit, reinvestment etc.; member benefits such as: jobs created, high quality products with competitive price etc.; local community benefits were all considered. Profits should be used to reinvest for long-term and sustainable goals.
After discussing, the business plans of the cooperatives focus on as following:
- Growing and trading trees
- Producing and trading forestry and urban seedlings
- Trading fertilizer and pesticide
- Providing service of harvesting and transporting forestry products
The above activities are planned to conduct in 2016. Moreover, two cooperatives plan to provide the service of collecting domestic sewage which brings no profit but offers improved environment and good relationship between the cooperatives and community around.
